About the Topic:

The HILDA Survey provides the first set of data that tracks how the economic fortunes of Australian families have been changing over time: This forum will bring together three of the leadinf figures behind the development of the HILDA Survey. They will examine questions such as:

  • Have the gains from the economic boom been shared equally? Who has done well and who has missed out?
  • How have those on low incomes fared?
  • What has happened to household wealth in recent years, and for who has it increased most and least?
  • What are the sources of growth in wealth? How much has been in housing, superannuation, shares or changing debt levels?
  • How have the retired and those approaching retirement age fared?
