Nicky Auster was appointed HILDA Administrative Assistant at the Melbourne Institute in April 2007. Nicky’s main tasks are mainly providing HILDA Survey support such as:

  • Managing the HILDA user database, and distribution of data, receipting of payments for access to the data
  • Assisting with data checking and editing
  • Collating HILDA user publications and updating the HILDA website
  • Preparing agendas, papers, minutes and correspondence for and from committee meetings for the HILDA team
  • Assisting with the checking and proof-reading of questionnaires
  • Organising travel, accommodation and conference registrations
  • Providing assistance to the Director of the HILDA survey such as making travel bookings
  • Providing support in other administrative duties as directed

Nicky graduated from a Bachelor of Arts (Japanese) / Bachelor of Business (Marketing) at Monash University in 2003. In 2004, Nicky lived, worked and travelled in Japan so she could improve her Japanese language skills.

Prior to working at the Melbourne Institute, Nicky was doing contract work in the administration and research fields in various industries ranging from business events to government departments.

Nicky’s work history is mainly in market research and administration. Her last full-time job was at a market research firm doing a wide range of tasks such as questionnaire and report-writing, database management, filing and reception duties.
