Simon is the project's Research Database Manager and has responsibility for programming the integrated multi-wave data processing and database production system. This includes programming the data cleans, derived variables, frequencies, income, tax and wealth models and a wide variety of data checks and benchmarks. In addition he does the post-cleaning logic and integrity checking, produces the marked-up questionnaires, creates the data zips and burns the HILDA DVDs. He has worked for the Australian Institute of Family Studies in research support, and for a number of years managing longitudinal research data at the University of Melbourne, notably on the Carer's Program. He has an Honours degree in Psychology and a post-graduate diploma in Computer Science.
