Curriculum Vitae (pdf)

Wang joined the Melbourne Institute as a Research Fellow in January 2006. Prior to working at the Melbourne Institute, he was a senior analyst at Abt Associates Inc. (www.abtassociates.com) in Bethesda, Maryland (USA) involved in analyzing the experimental welfare reform evaluations for the states of Delaware and Indiana. In order to further deepen his understanding of program evaluation techniques, Wang devoted his PhD years to investigating various aspects of Propensity Score Matching which resulted in some proposals for new specification tests that can be used in applied work.

Wang holds a B.A. in economics from Colby College (www.colby.edu), an M.A. in economics from Michigan (www.econ.lsa.umich.edu/econ) and a PhD in economics from Melbourne. He is also currently affliated with IZA, Bonn (www.iza.org), where he was a visiting researcher during the period April-June 2009. With a strong background in applied micro-econometrics, his current research interests include program evaluation techniques, health and labour economics, happiness economics and obesity.
