ARC Linkage PhD Scholarship – Research on Social Inclusion

An APAI scholarship is available for full-time PhD study in the field of Psychology and /or Economics at the University of Melbourne.

The scholarship is offered through an ARC linkage grant “Improving Employment Outcomes in Early Psychosis: Social and Economic Benefits of Early Intervention”.

The project aims to examine the employment, economic and social outcomes of an employment intervention for people with first-episode psychosis using a randomised controlled trial in which individual supported employment is compared to usual vocational placement. The research involves cross-disciplinary collaboration between Psychology and Economics researchers. The scholarship holder's research will centre on issues of social inclusion for individuals with mental illness. The research can be approached from a Psychology or Economics perspective. A multi-disciplinary approach is particularly welcome.

The scholarship offers an annual stipend of $26,140 for 3 years commencing either Semester 2, 2008 or Semester 1, 2009.
